Wynberg Campus Choral Concert Unites 400 Voices in a Celebration of Song

The Wynberg Campus of Schools came alive with the sound of music on 14 and 15 May as 400 young voices from across the Wynberg family of schools filled the historic Clegg Hall for the much-anticipated Wynberg Campus Choral Concert. Hosted by Wynberg Boys’ Junior School, the event brought together the choirs of Wynberg Boys’ and Girls’ Junior and High Schools in a magnificent showcase of harmony, collaboration, and musical excellence.

For two evenings, audiences were treated to a rich and moving programme that reflected both the diversity and unity of our campus community. The mass choir, comprising learners from Grades 3 through 12, presented a stirring repertoire featuring beloved South African choral works alongside select classical pieces, delivering moments of heartfelt emotion and awe-inspiring power.

Clegg Hall, filled to capacity, resonated not only with song but with the spirit of shared purpose. From the haunting beauty of traditional melodies to the dynamic energy of contemporary arrangements, each performance was a testament to the hard work of choir directors and the dedication of each learner.

The concert was more than a musical event; it was a celebration of the enduring bonds between our four schools and the unifying power of the arts. As voices blended in harmony, they reminded us of the strength in togetherness and the beauty of expression through music.

This year’s Campus Choral Concert reaffirmed Wynberg’s proud tradition of excellence in the arts, leaving audiences uplifted and inspired, proof once again that when we raise our voices together, we rise – Supera Moras!
