2025 Admissions process – dates to remember:
Step 1
Apply to the WCED online portal https://admissions.westerncape.gov.za or wcedonline.westerncape.gov.za and rank schools in order of preference. Parents must upload copies of certified documents on the WCED online portal at the time of application.
Step 2
WCED online portal will display the outcome of all applications on the dates listed above for the different grades.
Step 3
Parents of successful applicants must confirm their acceptance on the WCED online portal, by the dates listed in the table above WBJS will then communicate directly with parents.
Step 4
Where the learner’s application was successful it will be confirmed online at WCED with an auto-generated acceptance letter, emailed to parents confirming the place for 2025. Parents must submit this letter and certified copies of supporting documents to the school within 3 school days after confirmation.
Step 5
All supporting documents for Wynberg Boys’ Junior School can be sent via e-mail or handed to Security (in a sealed envelope) within the specified time. Supporting documents include but are not limited to:

- Proof of address (Municipal bill/Deed of Sale/Lease agreement etc)

Important points to remember:
- There are no hard copy Application Forms for Grade R or Grade 1.
- Applications submitted after the closing date will be deemed a late application and will be considered only after all on-time applications have been processed.
- There will be no direct communication between WBJS and parents until parents accept their successful status at WCED online.
- WBJS and its Governing Body have the right to reject applications if parents submit false/untrue information or fraudulent documents.
- WBJS strongly advises parents to apply to more than one school, so they have another possible option if the school of their choice does not have a place.
- WBJS encourages parents to register at the WCED online portal as early as possible.

Transfer guidelines:
- Transfer requests open on 1 August and close on 16 August
- The WCED will only consider transfer requests in the case of relocation. Learners in Grade 7 or serious cases will be considered by the circuit manager.
- Parents will no longer be able to capture an online application for a transfer themselves.
- Parents must complete a hard copy transfer request form and submit the completed form with the supporting documents to the school of their choice or their nearest district office.
- Click on the link for the Transfer Request Form
- Schools can only capture requests for their school. Districts can capture transfer requests for multiple schools.
- A completed admissions form handed to a school does not automatically guarantee a space at the school if there are no available spaces as per their planned enrolment.
- Learners who are already in a school and have applied for a transfer are not considered unplaced.
